I Can't Remember

Sometimes, I can't remember my name.
And, I sure can't remember the days.
For, I have this disease of the memory
And my thoughts are a jumbled up haze.

I don't know where it is, that I call home.
You'll have to ask my daughters, you see.
They take special care of every want
And provide me with all of my needs.

My recent memory has left me.
The past is all I can find.
I don't know exactly what brought this about.
But, it has something to do with my mind.

Sometimes, I'm rebellious. Though, I don't know why
I won't take my bath nor my pills.
So, when they say that it's time, I just start to whine.
And then, there's a battle of wills.

I know in my heart, my girls love me.
And, they try hard to do what is right.
But, it's an uphill climb, this disease of the mind,
And a battle that's so hard to fight.
