A Christmas Bow For My Soldier

Our yellow ribbon has faded, so we tied a new one tight
A bold symbol to represent your spirit, aglow with Christmas light,
It's color will remind us, of all you're going through
And your heart of love that beats, for all that's really true.

More than ever now at Christmas, we want you home to stay,
But God has other plans, so we'll be brave this special day.
Oh, how we sorely wish, you could be with us here,
Home in our hearts and arms, forever near and dear.

How much we want to hold you close and never let you go,
To keep you safe from harm, no suffering to know.
We are praying comfort for you, in every daily pain,
So you'll feel peace at Christmas, instead of chilling rain.

You have amazing courage, a brave loyalty at heart,
A call to bless all where you are, that keeps us far apart.
So, while we'll miss you so, our hearts will beat with pride,
As we celebrate yuletide this year, without you by our side.

But, in spirit you are here, just as if you never went away,
For the Christmas love we share, means you're with us every day.
Close forever, ne'er to part, for those very loving arms
That hold us, grip you, to keep your soul from harm.

Each day we wake and pray for God your heart to keep,
And may you dream sweet memories, each moment that you sleep,
Beneath the same big canopy, of shining stars above,
Bound as one together, in the same eternal love.

God brought you to His world, so very long ago,
For you to set men free, from the cruelty of foe,
You step out every day, with a love of life to give.
That little ones know truth and thus be free to live.

We send you all our blessing, we send you Christmas love
So our prayer sent up for you, brings light down from above,
To surround your heart today, with that first Christmas peace,
So that little child delight you live, will never ever cease.

The color of your life for us, will never ever fade,
Your light will glow forever, in all that you embrace
Your everlasting beauty, is always tied in place
For in our heart of hearts, we always see your face.
