Reaching Hand

I may not know how hard it is—
But somehow let me share your pain;
I want to be able to help
To bring you to your feet again.

Oh, my hurting friend, go to God!
I know somehow He’ll carry you
To the peace you long for today;
So much joy He’ll bring you to!

What can I do, what can I say?
I am just a clueless friend—
So I just reach out in love,
If only you could comprehend…

If only you could understand
The meaning of a reaching hand,
By God’s help I know we could
Reach the bond of brotherhood.
