Life's Highways
I set out on life's highways,
Wandering here and there.
Never knowing who to turn to,
I felt such bitterness and despair.
I could not find happiness.
In my life was so much pain.
I seemed to live from moment to moment.
Nothing ever remained the same.
Then, one day, as I was walking,
I heard someone call,
"Why don't you turn everything over to me?
I want to be your all in all."
I felt a battle raging.
Which way do I go,
The broad and wide highway
Or the narrow, seldom, used road?
Then, I saw someone beckoning,
Come down this little road.
I felt peace, love, and compassion;
A lightening of my load.
I felt a Holy presence,
Learned that Jesus was His name ~
How He gave His life and all for me.
I will never be the same.
Life, sometimes, still feels tough.
But, I learned just what to do.
Call on the name of Jesus
Because He is always there for you!
