Bread

Mere bread cannot my cravings satisfy.
Though glutted and o'er filled my body be,
My hungry soul cries out for Living Bread
To fill my heart, and set my spirit free.

As Jesus blessed and multiplied the loaves.
And fed the hungry hordes in Galilee,
I seek fulfillment from the Bread of Life
To feed this hunger that's a part of me.

I see that precious, holy body pierced
And broken on the cross by sinful men.
And as I eat Communion's broken bread,
I celebrate Christ's victory over sin.

Oh Father God, I long to daily eat,
And share Your Bread with all who do not know.
Please bless and multiply this Holy fare,
Until its imprint on my life I show.
