NATION TO NATION
(9-11)

Death came from the skies.
Most could not believe their eyes.
The horror, taking place,
Mirrored on every face.

Two buildings hit the street.
Dust rained down like an evil sleet.
Sirens howled and people screamed -
Armageddon? Or, so it seemed!

On that September day,
A nation lost its way.
Oh, God, in heaven, why?
The world took up the cry.

Thousands of souls ascended.
Their time on earth had ended;
Now, all gone home to glory
And we must tell their story.

The nightmare lingers on.
Our loved ones have all gone.
A child cries out, in the night,
For mom or dad; now, out of sight.

But, the terrorists hadn’t cared
That children would be scared
Or that, on that 11th day,
So many would be blown away.

Mangled bodies, smashed and broken,
Became just a lifeless religious token.
But, we, who believe in God’s creation,
Mourn your passing; from nation to nation.

AMEN.
